In cross country, Cross became the first-runner in Elmhurst men’s cross country history to earn multiple All-America honors. He placed 34th at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in 2013 to earn his first All-America honor. The following year, he placed 16th at the NCAA Championships to earn his second All-America distinction. He earned three all-conference honors in cross country, including a first-team honor in 2014 by placing fourth in the CCIW. He also earned all-region accolades in 2013 and 2014, placing 15th and 13th, respectively, at the NCAA Midwest Regional.

On the track, Cross earned eight all-conference honors in his career while qualifying for the NCAA Track and Field Championships three times. He earned All-America honors in 2015 by placing fourth in the mile run at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. He finished the race in 4:12.4, just .07 seconds out of second place.

Cross earned all-conference honors in track and field in the Distance Medley Relay (twice), the mile run, the 3,000 meters (indoor), the outdoor 1,500 meters (twice) and the outdoor 10,000 meters (twice).

He holds the second-fastest indoor mile run time in school history (4:13.68) while owning the Elmhurst record in the indoor 3,000 meters (8:27.20). In the outdoor record book, he ranks in Elmhurst’s top-10 in the 3,000 meters, 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters.
