Elmhurst University Athletics

A member of the inaugural Bluejay Backer Hall of Fame Class in 1980, Steve Filipski lettered in both football and men's track and field at Elmhurst. A mainstay on the Bluejays' defense football. Filipski  was also a standout thrower for the Bluejays' track team. He won the CCIW shot put title in 1971. He set a school record of 52-0.75 that still stands today. He also set a school record in the discus.
