Elmhurst University Athletics Hall of Fame
A three-sport athlete in his time at Elmhurst, Jim Brusveen played on the Bluejays' football, basketball and baseball teams.
Â
An all-conference honoree during the 1971 baseball season, Brusveen posted a .337 average with a team-leading 10 stolen bases. He finished the season with the second-highest batting average on the squad while tying for second in runs batted in.
Â
On the basketball court, Brusveen's 15 assists in a single game established an Elmhurst College single game and continues to rank as the second-highest single game total in Elmhurst history. He dished out 141 assists during the 1970-71 season, setting a new single-season record that still ranks as the third-highest single-season record in Elmhurst history. He owns two of the top five single-season assist records in Elmhurst history, and is the only Elmhurst player in school history to finish his career with over 400 assists.
