Elmhurst University Athletics

Jenni Markanich is the first cross country All-American in Elmhurst history. Markanich earned the distinction by placing among the top ten in the nation, and she did so in back-to-back years. She placed 10th in the nation in 1999 and finished seventh at the 2000 National Championships.

A four-time all-conference and three-time all-region honoree in cross country, Markanich led the Elmhurst women's team to its first CCIW title in 2000. She captured the CCIW individual title during the 1999 and 2000 seasons.

Markanich also had success in track and field, claiming three CCIW outdoor championships in her career. She also held seven Elmhurst records in track and field.
