Elmhurst University Athletics

A 1972 graduate, John Tritt was an all-conference offensive guard in football and all-district wrestler at both 177 pounds and heavyweight. He lettered three years in football and two years in wrestling. As a sophomore transfer, Tritt led the football Bluejays to a 32-13 upset of Millikin University, his former school, to end Elmhurst's 32-game CCIW losing streak. He was named All-CCIW and team MVP as a senior co-captain. In wrestling, Tritt earned NAIA All-District honors for placing second at 177 pounds as a sophomore and fourth at heavyweight as a junior, when he received the Coaches Award. His career record of 22-11 included a 15-7 mark in 1970-71. John married classmate Deborah Biersach, '72, who was captain of the cheerleading squad. He served on the College's Board of Trustees from 1993-96.
