A star on the tennis courts, at the time of his graduation, Fenton owned the Bluejays' record with 53 wins at No. 1 singles. Playing both singles and doubles, Fenton held down either the No. 1 or No. 2 spot during all four of his collegiate seasons, amassing an overall career-winning percentage of .717 (132 wins-52 losses) and a total of 68 singles victories. In 1987, Fenton teamed with Ron Beecroft to claim the CCIW conference championship at No. 2 doubles.
