Elmhurst University Tailgating Policy

Elmhurst University Tailgating Policy

-Tailgating is permitted from 2 hours before the game and must end no later than the scheduled kickoff. This will be standard unless prior approval or a special event permits otherwise.

-Vehicles may not block traffic lanes or driveways. Campers and trailers must have prior approval from Public Safety to be on campus. No overnight parking is permitted.

-Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reserving spaces is not permitted.

-Alcohol possession and consumption are permitted within the designated tailgate areas for guests who are 21 years of age and older. Kegs, glass bottles, glass containers and drinking games are prohibited.

-The City of Elmhurst prohibits open alcohol in public areas, which includes sidewalks and streets around the parking lots.

-Outside food or drinks are not permitted at Langhorst Field.

-Signage or tents with advertisements or commercial names are prohibited.

-Open flame fires, including fire pits are prohibited. Propane and charcoal grills are permitted for food preparation.

-Used charcoal must be dumped in designated charcoal disposal containers.

-Tailgaters must clean up their area and remove any debris or trash before leaving the lot / area.

-Pets are not permitted in the tailgate area or at Langhorst Field.

-Elmhurst University reserves the right and authorizes Public Safety to monitor activities, ensure policy compliance and address any violations of University policy, including underage alcohol consumption.

-Noncompliance with the tailgating policy may result in the immediate removal from campus and possible arrest or citations from the Elmhurst Police Department. Additional follow-up sanctions, based on the severity of the violations, may include a Ban or No Trespass from the University. Students in violation of the tailgating policy may also face additional sanctions through the Student Code of Conduct.
