Elmhurst University Athletics

Harris coached football at Elmhurst College from 1963-1973. During his 11 seasons, he compiled a 50-44-1 (.532) record, including a 7-1 season (1963), a 7-2 season (1964) and a 6-2 season (1965). He is tied with fellow Bluejay Backer Hall of Fame member Tom Beck for most coaching victories (50).

After the College withdrew from the conference following the 1959-60 academic year, Harris oversaw Elmhurst's rejoining in the 1968 season and made the team competitive in the league.
