A 1985 graduate, Bill earned first-team All-CCIW Defensive Team honors four straight years at defensive tackle for the Bluejay football team, and was named to the Pizza Hut NCAA Division III All-American Defensive Team in 1983 and 1984. His 179 career tackle assists ranks second only to Earl Wilcek and include a single-season record of 118 assists in 1984. Blechschmidt set single-game records of 29 total tackles and 27 assists versus Augustana College in 1984. During his career, the Bluejays won 75 percent (27-9) of their games.
