Rob Carmichael was a three-time CCIW all-conference selection in baseball earning first-team accolades in 1986 and 1987 and honorable mention status in 1985. He also earned all-region honors in 1985.

Carmichael still holds Elmhurst's single-game record for home runs (four) and total bases (16). He ranks high in Elmhurst's record books in career home runs (21), batting average (.364), slugging percentage (.576), extra-base hits (52), hits (148), runs scored (104), doubles (29) and walks (62).

He was co-holder of the school's single-season home run record until it was broken in the 2004 season. He ranks in the single-season top ten in RBI, home runs, runs, extra-base hits, batting average and slugging percentage.
