Elmhurst University Athletics

A 1986 graduate, Swaim helped lead the Bluejays to their second NCAA Division III National Championship in three years. The 5-5 setter/outside hitter transferred to Elmhurst to start her junior year after leading Harper Junior College to a third-place finish among Illinois junior colleges in 1983. Swaim was named to the 1985 NCAA Division III Russell Athletic All-American first-team as chosen by the Collegiate Volleyball Coaches Association (CVCA) and was a first-team 1985 NCAA Division III National Championship All-Tournament selection. In national tournament play, Swaim led Elmhurst in digs (54) and at the time, ranked fifth on the all-tournament hit list at .295 (44 kills/11 errors/112 attempts).
