Jim Veverka, a two-year letterman in baseball (45-31-1/.590) at first and third base, earned NCAA Division III All-America second team and CCIW Player of the Year honors in 1985 when he batted .414 with 53 hits and a .773 slugging percentage. He also was chosen to the NCAA Division III All-Midwest Region first team and All-CCIW first team.

Veverka ranks high on Elmhurst's baseball all-time record lists for single-season marks in home runs with 10 (2nd), RBI with 47 (3rd), extra-base hits with 23 (4th) and total bases with 99 (5th).
