Hawkins was a four-time All-CCIW selection in volleyball earning honorable mention status as a freshman and first-team recognition her final three years. She became the second Bluejay to win CCIW "Player of the Year" honors in consecutive years (1997-98). She was also a two-time first-team All-Region selection and was chosen to the All-CCIW Tournament team three times in her career. She was a part of the 1998 squad that captured the first CCIW Championship for Head Coach Julie Hall.

Hawkins' name is written throughout the Elmhurst College volleyball record book. At the time of her graduation she held career records for kills (1,806) and games played (541) while ranking second in career attempts (4,132), service aces (265) and blocks (612). In addition, she fell high atop the Elmhurst record books in kills per game average (3.34), digs (1,481), and hitting percentage (.305).

Hawkins appears in the top-ten list of every single-season record except total assists. Most notably, she ranks second in single-season kills (537) while also ranking eighth in the same category. She turned in the second-highest single season kills per game average (3.84) while also having the ninth and tenth best seasons in the same category. She also holds the second-highest single-season mark in service aces (106) while also ranking seventh.
