Elmhurst University Athletics

A 1933 graduate, the late John "Moon" Holden, who passed away in 1993, was a standout two-sport letterman and former coach who helped to organize the first Elmhurst Intercollegiate Invitational track and field meet in 1933. He lettered in track and field as a hurdler, pole vaulter and high jumper from 1931-33 and as a football fullback from 1930-31. John also served as track and field head coach in 1933 as a senior, and then he returned to his Alma Mater as a track and field Assistant Coach in 1935.
