Elmhurst University Athletics

Illingworth became the first Elmhurst golfer to ever capture the conference individual title. Illingworth guided the 1958 squad to a second-place finish in what was then called the College Conference of Illinois while winning the individual title by firing a two-day total of 148.

During the 1958 season, he helped lead Elmhurst to an 11-2-1 record, the Bluejays' highest win total at the time. He was a four-year letter-winner in men's golf.
