A 1992 graduate, Joe Klim was a three-sport athlete who earned all-conference honors as a national-qualifying decathlete, hurdler and javelin thrower in men's track and field, and football tight end. He lettered three years in track and field and set school records in the decathlon (6,362 points) and javelin (213-0) in 1990, and the 110-meter high hurdles (14.5 seconds) and 400-meter intermediate hurdles (53.7 seconds) in 1988. He competed at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in his record-setting events in those years. In 1990, Klim was named the CCIW Outdoor Championships' Outstanding Performer for placing in the decathlon (2nd), 110 hurdles (2nd), 400 hurdles (2nd) and javelin (3rd). He won the 110 hurdles at conference in 1988 in a record time (14.6 seconds). In football, Klim was named All-CCIW second team in 1990 as the Bluejays' leading pass catcher (23 receptions/556 yards/6 touchdowns). In 1991-92, Klim served as head coach in both cross country and track and field.
