Matt Sassolino become the first Elmhurst wrestler to achieve All-America recognition. A two-time national qualifier at 184 pounds, Sassolino earned a pair of All-America honors in his career. He placed seventh in the nation during the 2004 season and he closed out his career with a third-place national finish during the 2005 season. Sassolino captured a conference championship during the 2004 season and he helped the Bluejays win their first-ever CCIW Championship and place among the top-10 teams in the nation during the 2005 season. He completed his career with an impressive 60-19 overall record.
