A brilliant pass catcher and kick returner, Henderson broke the NCAA record for most kickoff-return years (2,063) and he still holds the NCAA mark for most kickoffs returned (104). An annual all-league selection from his freshman through senior seasons, he was nominated in 1994 for the prestigious Melberger Award, given annually to the nation's top Division III football player. Henderson played in the Coaches National Football Classic All-Star game and caught a 65-yard touchdown pass. One of Elmhurst's all-time leading pass-receivers, Henderson finished with 117 catches (ranks fourth) and 2,068 yards (ranks second).
