Elmhurst University Athletics Hall of Fame
A member of the inaugural Bluejay Backer Hall of Fame class in 1980, Jim Peters starred on the basketball court for the Bluejays.
A three-time all-conference honoree, Peters closed out his career as Elmhurst's all-time leading rebounder with 1,252 rebounds (a record that still stands today). He also became Elmhurst's all-time leader in free throws with 535 (also a record that still stands today).
At the time of his graduation, Peters ranked as Elmhurst's second-leading scorer with 1,599 points. He also ranked second in school history in career field goals made with 532.
Peters' name also appears among the Bluejays' best-single season totals. His 483 points during the 1969-70 season ranked third all-time at Elmhurst. His 167 free throws during the same season ranked second at Elmhurst while his 313 rebounds during the 1966-67 season ranked third all-time.
