DECATUR, Ill. - The Elmhurst University men's wrestling team put on an impressive showing at the Future CCIW Championships, with several standout performances and multiple podium finishes.
Leading the way was 
Erwin Morales, who dominated the 157-pound bracket with a perfect run to first place, winning all four of his matches by fall. Morales pinned his opponents in under three minutes in each bout, culminating in a championship victory over Noah DeMarco of Augustana College in just 2:52. His dominant performance earned him 23.0 team points, the highest among Elmhurst competitors.
Nicholas Asllani also captured a title at 165 pounds, going undefeated with a thrilling 14-13 decision in his opening match before securing two consecutive falls to claim first place and add 14.0 team points to Elmhurst's tally. His final pin came against teammate Adonai Zora-Awni, who battled his way to a fourth-place finish with 2.0 team points.
At 174 pounds, Max Comas rebounded from an early loss to take third place. After receiving a bye in the consolation bracket, he picked up a solid 8-2 decision victory over teammate Corey Bradley in the semifinals before capping off his tournament with a lightning-fast pin in just 25 seconds over Vincent Fiore from Millikin University. Bradley, who also put together a strong performance, placed fifth with a 6-0 decision win in his final match.
The 125-pound division saw three Elmhurst wrestlers place in the top four. Matt Nguyen finished as the runner-up with a strong tournament run, winning by tech fall, injury default, and major decision to earn 10.5 team points. Owen Brotherton secured third place, notching a pin in his opening match before finishing with 7.0 team points. Anthony Bigham rounded out the group with a fourth-place finish, competing through tough matchups and contributing 1.0 team point.
At 157 pounds, Charles Gross added a sixth-place finish to Elmhurst's success, earning 9.5 team points. He started strong with a tech fall victory but was eventually eliminated after a forfeit in the consolation rounds.
