KENOSHA, Wisc. – Rhenzo Augusto would claim his second straight CCIW title on Saturday, as Elmhurst earned a top-five finish at the 2026 CCIW Men's Wrestling Championships.
The Bluejays collected 80 points, good for 5th in the ten-team field. Augusto led the way with 18 points over three victories on his way to the individual title at 157 lbs. The sophomore won by tech fall in his quarterfinal and semifinal matches, before a 4-1 win by decision in the first-place match.
Donovin Fields reached the first-place match at 133 lbs., winning his first two matches by a combined score of 26-12 and picking up a major decision in the quarterfinal. Fields collected 14 points for the Bluejays, equaling the total from Nicholas Asllani in the 165-lb. division. Asllani would place 5th after picking up two falls in the first two matches, but dropping his semifinal and consolation semifinal matchups. In the 5th-place match, Asllani would earn another fall in just 45 seconds, as the junior recorded two falls in under a minute.
Corey Bradley and Mataeo Blessing each placed 4th with 11 team points at 174 lbs. and 184 lbs., respectively. Bradley would win his opening match by decision, fall in the semifinal, but recover with a tech fall win to reach the 3rd-place match. Blessing dropped his opener by decision, 3-2, before recovering to win three straight to reach the 3rd-place match.
Alejandro Cordova earned a 5th-place result at 125 lbs., picking up nine points, while Mike Milovich at 285 lbs. earned three points with a fall in the consolation rounds.
Next up for the Jays is the NCAA Region V Championship, set to begin on Friday, Feb. 27.
