Box Score KENOSHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst lacrosse team suffered a 16-6 loss at Carthage College to slip to 4-7 on the season.
Carthage (9-4, 5-1 MLC) dominated the start of the contest, scoring the game's first four goals and outscoring the Bluejays' 7-1 in the opening 15 minutes. The Red Men extended their lead to 11-3 at the half.
Elmhurst (2-4 MLC) outscored Carthage 2-1 in the third quarter behind goals from
also scored a goal for the Bluejays.
Nick Klenck added an assist for the Bluejays.
Ben Porter and
A.J. Weiger totaled five ground balls apiece in the loss.
Tyler York took the loss in net for the Bluejays, allowing 16 goals while recording 13 saves and four ground balls.
Jack Meachum paced Carthage with five points in the win. Meachum found the back of the net four times while also tallying an assist. Timothy Francis totaled seven points on three goals and four assists. Jared Ferrell, John Salerno, Tanner Thomas and Billy Lane all netted two goals apiece for the Red Men.
Ryan Smith made the start in goal and earned the win, allowing four goals while recording two saves in 38 minutes. Jonah Lackey played the final 21:24 and allowed two goals while stopping four shots.
Elmhurst hosts the College of Mount St. Joseph on Saturday, April 12.
