Bluejays Cap Furious Rally With Overtime Win Over Augustana

, to go in front 6-4. Wassenaar netted his second goal of the game with 2:04 left in the half to bring Elmhurst to within one, but Augustana's Jesse Nagelberg scored with 10 seconds remaining to put the Vikings up 7-5 after 30 minutes.

Wassenaar scored midway through the third to bring Elmhurst back to within a goal, but Augustana scored four straight goals to open up an 11-6 lead with 14:07 left in the contest. Wassenaar scored back-to-back goals less than two minutes apart to slice the Vikings' lead down to three, but Nagelberg scored his second of the game with 9:28 remaining to put Augustana back up by four. Mandli and Westhaver scored back-to-back tallies 1:04 apart to bring Elmhurst to within two, but answered back for Augustana, firing home his fifth goal of the game with 4:44 left on the clock to put Augustana back up by three and set up Elmhurst's furious rally.

Elmhurst outshot Augustana 36-27 while both teams totaled 35 ground balls. The Bluejays won 18-of-31 faceoff attempts and cashed in on both of their man-advantage opportunities.

Wassenaar was a one-man force for the Bluejays, scoring six goals on 11 shots all while drawing constant defensive pressure from Augustana. Euson added three goals for the Bluejays while Westhaver and Mandli scored two apiece. Tyler Dailey added a goal for the Bluejays and Angelo Carbonera tacked on two assists. Tyler York recorded five saves in goal for the Bluejays to earn the win.

Davis led Augustana with five goals and an assist while Kevin Gleason totaled four points on three goals and an assist. Alex Crescenti scored three goals while Nagelberg finished with two. Burgdorff took the loss in net, surrendering 14 goals while stopping six shots.

Elmhurst closed out its second lacrosse season with an 8-8 overall record and a 5-5 mark in the MLC.
