Box Score DEFIANCE, Ohio - both tallied goals while Carbonara scored twice in the final 3:30 to stake Elmhurst to a 9-0 lead at the half.
Wassenaar,
Tyler Dailey and
Alex Opyd added third period goals while Carbonara, Daily,
Jack Albertini and
Matt Westhaver all found the back of the net in the fourth period to hand the Bluejays' their biggest win in program history.
Carbonara totaled six points on the day, finishing with five goals and an assist. Wassenaar added five points on three goals and two assists while Opyd totaled four on a goal and three assists. Euson and Dailey totaled two goals apiece while Westhaver finished with two points on a goal and an assist. A. J. Weiger and
Brandon Bethran also tallied helpers for the Bluejays.
Tyler York and
Nick Bonastia combined for the shutout in net. York made the start and stopped three shots in the game's first 30 minutes. Bonastia played the second half and recorded six saves while not allowing a goal.
Elmhurst outshot Defiance (0-13, 0-8 MLC) 42-17 in the contest and enjoyed a 37-17 edge in ground balls. Elmhurst was also successful on 22-of-23 clearing attempts.
The Bluejays host Illinois Wesleyan University on Monday, April 21, at 7:00 p.m.
