Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst lacrosse team fell to 2-7 on the season after suffering a 17-4 loss to Beloit College on Langhorst Field.
Beloit (5-6) dominated the contest from the start, grabbing a quick 4-0 lead in the opening period while outshooting Elmhurst 15-2.
The Buccaneers padded their lead to 9-0 before the half and outshot the Bluejays 27-10 in the game's first 30 minutes.
Beloit scored the first two goals of the third period before Elmhurst got on the scoreboard on
John Fiedler's stuff shot. Beloit answered back with a pair of goals before
Nick Klenck stuffed home a Tyler Zarmeski pass with just 0.6 seconds left on the clock. The Bluejays trailed 13-2 after two three periods.
Alex Opyd scored a pair of unassisted goals for Elmhurst in the fourth period as Beloit pulled away for the 13-goal victory.
Beloit outshot Elmhurst 56-29 for the contest and had a 31-24 edge in ground balls. The Buccaneers dominated on faceoffs, winning 17-of-24.
Opyd led the Bluejays with two goals in the loss.
Beloit's attack was led by Aidan Whinnery's five goals. Ryan Hazuka finished with four goals and two assists while Thomas Porkka found the back of the net three times.
Tyler York recorded 17 saves in the cage for the Bluejays. Jace Hodder recorded 13 saves in 56 minutes for the Buccaneers.
Elmhurst travels to Augustana College on Wednesday (April 17).
