Box Score MEQUON, Wis. - Alex Opyd and
Tyler Dailey scored four goals apiece to lead the Elmhurst men's lacrosse team to an 11-2 victory over MSOE.
The win was the Bluejays' second straight and brought the squad's record to 2-3 on the season (1-2 in the MLC).
Opyd scored early in the first period to put the Bluejays on top 1-0. The Bluejays padded their lead with four goals in the second, including a hat trick from Dailey.
MSOE scored two of the first three goals in the third period to make the score 6-2 in favor of Elmhurst. The Bluejays scored five straight goals to close the game, including the final three from Opyd, to put the game away.
Opyd and Dailey powered Elmhurst's attack scoring four times apiece. Opyd added one assist to finish with a team-leading five points.
Mal Euson scored a pair of goals and
Nick Klenck added a tally for the Bluejays.
Ben Porter and
Tyler Zaremski each added an assist for Elmhurst.
Elmhurst outshot MSOE 37-33 and the Bluejays were a perfect 9-of-9 on clearing attempts. Each squad committed 19 turnovers. MSOE had a 23-22 edge in ground balls.
Tyler York picked up his second straight win in goal for Elmhurst, allowing only two goals while recording 19 saves in the cage.
