Lacrosse Team Drops Opener to Concordia

Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's lacrosse team dropped its season-opening contest to Concordia University (Wis.) by a 14-2 final score.

Concordia (4-2, 1-0 MLC) scored the game's first eight goals en route the win. The Falcons scored six times in the opening period, including four goals in in a four minute span.

After the shaky opening 15 minutes, the Bluejays settled down, limiting the Falcons to only two goals in the second quarter and three apiece in the third and fourth quarters.

Trailing 8-1, Elmhurst jumped on the scoreboard when Ben Porter created his own shot, racing past a pair of defenders and firing home the first goal in Elmhurst lacrosse history.

The Bluejays scored their second goal of the match early in the fourth quarter when Tyler Dailey netted an unassisted goal one minute in the frame.

Elmhurst Men's Lacrosse
Concordia outshot Elmhurst 47-14 and had a 39-23 advantage in ground balls. The Falcons also won 15-of-19 faceoffs.

Tyler York played the entire game in goal for the Bluejays and recorded 17 saves while taking he loss.

Elmhurst travels to the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday (March 16).
