ELMHURST, Ill. – For the fourth time this season, senior attacker Eli Spence was selected as the CCIW Men's Lacrosse Student-Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
Spence finished with seven goals in the Bluejays' lone match of the week, a 15-14 overtime win at Kenyon (Ohio). The Snoqualmie, Wash. native scored at least one goal in all five periods, including the game-winner as the Jays' authored a frantic comeback after trailing by three goals with under three minutes to play in regulation.
Through eight games this season Spence is the CCIW's leader in goals (29), assists (20), and points (49). Nationally, Spence is 16th in Division III in goals per game, 28th in assists per game, and 10th in points per game.
The Bluejays continue their road trip through Ohio this afternoon, when they take on Wooster (Ohio) at 3:00 p.m. CDT.
