GAMBIER, Ohio – Playing in overtime for the second straight match, Elmhurst Men's Lacrosse pulled out a big road win on Saturday, defeating Kenyon (Ohio), 15-14.

Eli Spence led the way, collecting seven goals, including the game-winner in the extra session. Landon Davis and Hunter Hernandez each recorded a hat trick with three goals apiece.

The Bluejays took control early, jumping out to a 6-1 lead in the first period following a pair of goals each from Spence and Davis. Kenyon would close the quarter on a 3-0 run, cutting into the Elmhurst lead, 6-4.

The action slowed in the second quarter, with the home team out-scoring the Bluejays 2-1. Spence added his third goal of the game and Elmhurst lead 7-6 at the break.

Hernandez's goal a man up to start the third quarter started a four-goal period for the Bluejays, but Kenyon would take their first lead of the game with five straight scores between the third and fourth periods to go up 14-11.

Elmhurst would respond down the stretch, scoring three straight over the final two and a half minutes to tie the game. Spence would score twice, including the game-tying goal with 15 seconds to play. With 55 seconds left in overtime, Spence would put the game away with his seven goal of the day.

With the win, the Bluejays retain their perfect record on the road, with their first win away from Langhorst Field in a full month. Elmhurst will go for a 4-0 start away from home in their next match, when they face Wooster (Ohio) on Tuesday, March 24 at 3:00 p.m.
