HANOVER PARK, Ill. – The Elmhurst women's tennis team closed out its fall season by totaling five points and placing eighth at the CCIW Championships.

Elmhurst earned three points based on its regular season record and two points based on its finish in the championship bracket. The Bluejays placed ninth in the championship bracket.

At No. 1 singles,
Ysabel Gonzaga dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Augustana's Annie Timm. Gonzaga fell 8-4 to Millikin's Morgan Bettner in the playback round.
At No. 2 singles,
Nina Pasquini won a play-in match, defeating North Park's Lisa Viuhkonen 6-2 ,2-6, 10-4 before falling to top-seeded Zeana Badawi of Augustana 6-1, 6-0. Â Pasquini fell 8-3 to IWU's Alessia Girardin in the playback round.
Dacey Maglaque fell 6-3, 6-0 to Illinois Wesleyan's Ashley Mohr in a play-in match at No. 3 singles.

Lindsey McAuliffe fell 6-0, 6-1 to Wheaton's Nicole Freeman at No. 4 singles. McAuliffe fell 8-5 to Linsy Jante of North Central in the playback round. The Bluejays'
Silvia Barak scored a 6-3, 6-1 win over Illinois Wesleyan's Autumn See in a play-in match before falling to Wheaton's Abygale Ahn 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.

At No. 6 singles,
June Bering defeated North Park's Hannah Rosenbaum 6-3, 6-4 in a play-in match before falling to Wheaton's Bethany Hoogerheide 6-3, 6-4. Bering fell 8-6 to Millikin's Alena Hinch in the consolation round.

In doubles play, the Bluejays' No. 1 duo of Maglaque and Gonzaga fell 8-2 to Illinois Wesleyan's Rochacz/Mohr pairing in a play-in match. At No. 2 doubles,
Kristina Radakovic and Pasquini fell 8-6 to North Park's duo of Viuhkonen/Belisle in a play-in match.

Elmhurst's No. 3 doubles team of
Bailey Ekstrand and McAuliffe defeated North Park's Stan/Rosenbaum 8-4 in a play-in match before falling to Wheaton's combination of Lindquist/Hoogerheide 8-4. The Elmhurst duo fell 8-5 to Carroll's Bosman/Papp in the consolation round.
