LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's tennis team opened its 2025 season on the road with a 7-0 setback at Lake Forest College on Saturday morning.

With the result, Elmhurst starts the year 0-1 overall, while Lake Forest improves to 1-0.

Lake Forest took control early by sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the point. Annabeth Webb and Anna Sophia Stone dropped an 8-1 decision at No. 1 doubles, while Olivia Grabowski and Olivia Hernandez fell 8-0 at the No. 2 spot. The No. 3 doubles match also went to the Foresters, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

In singles, the Bluejays were unable to break through as Lake Forest claimed all six flights in straight sets. Stone fell at No. 1 singles to Sofia Strupovets (6-0, 6-0), while Webb was defeated at the No. 2 spot by Lilli Dockal (6-2, 6-0). Grabowski (No. 3), Hernandez (No. 4), and Asma Hasan (No. 5) each dropped matches in straight sets, and Lake Forest closed out the sweep with a victory at No. 6 singles.

The Bluejays return to action next Saturday, Sept. 6, hosting Wheaton College in the CCIW opener.
