Box Score BELOIT, Wis. - With the weather finally cooperating, the Elmhurst women's lacrosse team played its first-ever contest, falling 11-3 on the road at Beloit College.
Beloit (1-1) struck for five goals in the first and added six goals in the second half en route to the victory.
Phoebe LeRoy and
Aja Brown registered first half goals for the Bluejays while
Nikki Togami found the back of the net in the second half for the Bluejays. LeRoy also won five draw controls and caused a pair of turnovers. Brown and
Jamie Lawinger recorded four ground balls apiece for the Bluejays.
Grace Knoebel recorded nine saves while taking the loss in goal.Â
Beloit outshot Elmhurst 20-9 but the Bluejays had a 17-15 edge in ground balls. Elmhurst converted on 2-of-4 shots from free position.
Libby Storrick and Michelle Dillon paced Beloit in the win, finishing with four goals apiece. Sara Fithian added two goals and Hannah Drexler tallied the final score for Beloit. Marie Bonnie stopped three shots in net for Beloit.Â
