ELMHURST, IL - Elmhurst faced off against the co-conference leader, falling 17-0 to Carthage after they controlled the pace early.

With an early deficit, the Bluejays showed resilience as the game progressed, holding their ground more effectively in the later periods. Elmhurst limited opportunities compared to the opening quarter and continued to compete defensively.

Offensively, Elmhurst generated three total shots with two on goal. Paige Moniz tabbed one while Ashley Kay Sardon recorded two on goal. The Bluejays also worked to create possession opportunities, finishing with five draw controls led by contributions across the lineup. 

Defensively, Elmhurst forced four caused turnovers, with Grace Lorkiewicz leading the way with three caused turnovers and four ground balls. Additional defensive efforts came from players across the field as the Bluejays continued to battle against a high-volume Carthage attack that totaled 38 shots.

In goal, Jacq Vanoni played all 60 minutes, making 14 saves while facing 25 shots on goal. Her performance helped slow the momentum of the game, applying windows of opportunity to hold off Carthage scoring pace, particularly as Elmhurst settled in defensively later in the game.

Elmhurst will close out its season this Saturday, April 23 hosting Illinois Wesleyan for Senior Day at 11:00 am.
