ANGOLA, Ind - The Elmhurst wrestling team continued its impressive start to the 2015-16 season by rolling past Trine University 42-4 in a dual meet.
Elmhurst won nine of the 10 contests, including four by pinfall.
Anthony Munoz opened the dual by pinning David Moore in 2:42 at 125 pounds. Caleb Ramos followed with a 6-2 decision over Caleb Maddox at 133 pounds to give Elmhurst a quick 9-0 lead in the dual. Jimmy Nehls made it 13-0 by scoring an 11-0 major decision over Jeffrey Helm at 141 pounds.
In his first match since earning the number one ranking at 149 pounds from the NWCA, Blake Santi made short work of Austin Helm, scoring a first-round pin in just 1:19. Nick DiNardo followed with a second-round pin (3:53) of Kevin Gross at 157 pounds. Keone Derain scored Elmhurst's third straight win by pin, dispatching Brandon Gray in 3:17.
Trine picked up its only points of the dual at 171 pounds when Jaycee Jensen defeated Elmhurst's Walt Miller by a 12-0 major decision.
Elmhurst closed the dual with three straight victories. Bobby Schillinger defeated Jon Blanton 9-2 at 184 pounds and Colton Kelly followed with a 15-4 major decision over Michael Conner at 197 pounds. Zach Urbanski closed out the dual with a 15-4 major decision over Joe Stasiak at 285 pounds.
