NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's golf team shot a one-day score of 395 to place ninth out of 13 teams at the North Central College Cardinal Classic at Cress Creek Country Club.

Lewis University won the team title with a 350 while Carthage College and North Central College tied for second with matching 366s.

Freshman Ashley Beverage continued her strong start to the 2011 season, shooting a team-leading 87 and tying for third place in the process. Jordan Maisto carded a 101 to tie for 39th place while Amanda Wright finished the round with a 103, good for 45th place in the standings. Trisha Goss finished one stroke behind Wright, shooting a 104 and tying for 46th place. Christine Moran rounded out the Bluejays' line-up with a 142, placing 78th in the process.

Elmhurst will compete at the Augustana College Fall Classic on Thursday, September 8.
