Bluejays Blow Past Eureka 9-0

The Elmhurst College women's soccer team won its fourth straight game by hammering Eureka College 9-0.

The Bluejays scored early and often, totaling eight goals in the first 45 minutes. The Bluejays dominated the entire game, outshooting Eureka 90-0 for the game and having a 20-0 edge in corner kicks.

Morgan Geimer led Elmhurst's attack with seven points, netting her first career hat trick with three goals. Geimer scored Elmhurst's first goal in the 11th minute and added tallies in the 19th minute an 37th minute for the Bluejays. She also tacked on an assist on Elmhurst's second goal of the game.

Valerie Wesley and Katie Baschen totaled four points apiece in the win. Baschen totaled a a pair of goals while Wesley tallied a goal and a pair of assists.

Shannon Pimmel added a first-half goal for Elmhurst and an own goal by Eureka gave the Bluejays an 8-0 halftime lead. Shelley Shapasian scored off an Andrea Kmak feed in the second half to account for Elmhurst's final tally of the game. Heather De Moss recorded an assist on Baschen's first goal.

Maddie Fitzpatrick, Jenna Zawojski, and Joelle Kaupu combined in goal to record the shutout for the Bluejays.

Elmhurst hosts Alverno College on Thursday, September 22, in the team's first-ever night game at Langhorst Field.
