ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's soccer team returned home after three consecutive road matches and earned a 3-0 shutout victory over the University of Olivet (Mich.) on Sept. 19 at Jack Lewis Stadium.
Elmhurst (6-1-0) struck first following three consecutive corner kicks. Alaina Clark connected with Lauren Nevins, who scored at 17:06 to give the Bluejays a 1-0 lead.
The Bluejays kept up the pressure with four consecutive shots before Katelyn Guolla converted a penalty kick in the 43rd minute, sending Elmhurst into halftime ahead 2-0. Kelli Coughlin added a goal three minutes into the second half to complete the scoring against Olivet (1-4-1).
Elmhurst outshot Olivet 40-1. Nevins led the Bluejays with seven shots, including three on goal. Coughlin put four of her five shots on goal, while Calli Edwards recorded four shots, including one on goal. Guolla added three shots, with two on goal.
Erin Fitzharris and Sequoia Ross combined for the shutout in goal, recording one save.
