KENOSHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst College women's soccer team suffered its second-consecutive CCIW defeat after a 1-0 shutout loss at Carthage College.
Elmhurst (8-3, 0-2 CCIW) outshot Carthage (5-6-1, 1-1 CCIW) but the Bluejays' couldn't find the back of the net.
Carthage scored an early goal in the 17th minute and the Lady Reds made it stand up for the remainder of the game. Michelle Sobey connected on an Alyssa Baker corner kick 16:05 into the match to account for the game's only goal.
Maddie Fitzpatrick took the loss in net for the Bluejays, allowing just one goal while recording two saves. Angella Spinelli earned the shutout in goal for Carthage, stopping all six shots she faced.
Elmhurst hosts Chapman University at Langhorst Field on Monday (October 10) at 2:00 p.m.
