ELMHURST, Ill. - Heather De Moss broke a scoreless tie in the 85th minute to lift the Elmhurst College women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Marian University (Wis.).

Elmhurst (8-2) controlled the pace of the game, outshooting Marian 21-5, including a 12-1 advantage in the second half. Marian (7-6) kept Elmhurst off the scoreboard the first 84 minutes before the Bluejays scored the game-winning goal.

A foul on Marian from 25 yards out led to the Bluejays' goal. Morgan Geimer's free kick was saved by a diving Caitlyn Rosenberger, but the rebound came free to Amy Baschen. Baschen slid the ball over to De Moss and De Moss tucked it into the net for the game's only score.

Maddie Fitzpatrick recorded her fourth shutout of the season in goal for the Bluejays, stopping the only shot she faced. Rosenberger recorded 10 saves in net for the Sabres while taking the loss.

Elmhurst resumes CCIW play on Saturday by traveling to Carthage College.
