CHICAGO, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's soccer team saw its outstanding 2025 campaign come to a close Wednesday night, falling 2–1 to North Park University in the semifinal round of the CCIW Championship Tournament. The Bluejays battled wire-to-wire in a tightly contested match that reflected the heart, grit, and growth that defined their season.
North Park struck early in the first half, capitalizing on a quick counterattack to take a 1–0 lead. Elmhurst's back line stood tall for much of the contest, limiting opportunities and forcing the Vikings to work for every look on goal. Goalkeeper
Erin Fitzharris turned in another strong postseason performance, recording multiple key saves to keep Elmhurst within reach.
Offensively, the Bluejays pressed forward throughout the second half as the Bluejays created several dangerous chances in the attacking third. Despite holding much of the late possession and firing a series of shots toward frame, Elmhurst couldn't find the finishing touch before a late North Park tally sealed the result.
The semifinal appearance capped one of the program's most successful seasons in recent years. Elmhurst finished among the league's top teams, earned multiple All-CCIW honors, and advanced deep into the conference tournament behind a balanced roster of veterans and emerging young talent.
With a strong returning core, the Bluejays are poised to build on this year's momentum heading into 2026 and are continuing to establish themselves as a contender in the CCIW.
