ADRIAN, Mich. - The Elmhurst College women's soccer team dropped to 5-4-0 overall after falling 2-0 to Adrian College.

Elmhurst outshot Adrian 19-9 in the contest, including an 11-6 shots on goal advantage, but the Bluejays could not find the back of the net.

Adrian (4-3-2) used a pair of breakaway goals to earn the win. Lindsay Carlson scored in the 35th minute from a Sarah Evans feed to give the host a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Evans found Chitwood open for a second breakaway goal in the 72nd minute to put Adrian a 2-0 lead.

Adrian goalkeeper Steffany Burns held the Bluejays at bay, recoding the shutout by turning away all 11 shots she faced. Allison Korbel recorded four saves in goal for the Bluejays.

Elmhurst travels to North Central College on Wednesday, September 30.
