RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's soccer team kicked off the 2009 season by blanking Dominican University 1-0.

Freshman Katie Baschen scored the game's only goal in the 25th minute to give the Bluejays the win. Kelsey Caldwell had an assist on Baschen's goal.

Allison Korbel and the Elmhurst defense made the goal stand up as the Bluejays kept the Stars off the scoreboard. Korbel turned away five shots by Dominican en route to scoring the shutout victory.

The Bluejays travel to Michigan for the Hope College Tournament on September 4-5. Elmhurst takes on Manchester College on September 4, before facing host Hope College on September 5.
