WHEATON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College wrestling team remained unbeaten in dual meet competition by crushing Wheaton College 48-4.
Elmhurst, ranked 14th in the latest NWCA poll, improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in CCIW duals.
Elmhurst won six of the seven matches wrestled after Wheaton forfeited three weight classes.The Bluejays won their first three contests by pinfall.
Jake Denhof started the dual by pinning Caleb Cardenas in 6:25 at the 133 pound weight class.
Ryan Earley followed at 141 pounds with a pin over Wheaton's Jonathan Sbraccia in 4:33.
Charlie Curran remained undefeated at 149 pounds by pinning Wheaton's Casey Krahn in 3:32.
Dan Hamilton followed Curran's victory with an 18-5 major decision over Matthew Cordell at 157 pounds.
Jack Lewis edged Wheaton's Jon Sesso 5-4 to score the Bluejays three points at 165 pounds.
Frank Savegnago needed just two rounds to score a 24-6 technical fall over Wheaton's Paul Harvey at 174 pounds.
Wheaton scored its only points of the dual at 184 pounds when Justin Marble defeated Elmhurst's
Mike McNeil 8-0.
Elmhurst competes at the Desert Duals in Las Vegas on December 20.
