DUNDEE, Ill. – Elmhurst Men's Golf secured their first tournament title since 2022, besting hosts Judson (Ill.) by four strokes last week to win the Judson Spring Invitational at Randall Oaks G.C.
The Jays shot a team score of 303 (+19), their lowest score of the spring, to hold off a field of 22 teams.
Bo Smith led the way, shooting a 74 (+3) in a round that included four birdies; Smith shot one-under over the final seven holes to place 4th on the individual leaderboard. Evan Daniels shot even par on the front nine and finished 10th overall with a round at 75 (+4).
William Davis (+5) and Lachlan Bown (+7) scored for Elmhurst, placing 12th and 20th, respectively.
Elmhurst followed up their performance with another single-round tournament last Thursday, as the Jays competed at the Carthage Firebird Spring Invite at Meadowbrook C.C. in Racine, Wisc. The team finished T-8th out of 18 programs, shooting a team score of 317 (+33).
Davis would record six straight pars on the back nine, finishing with a birdie on 18 to card a team-low 77 (+6) to place 12th individually.
With today's CCIW Spring Preview cancelled due to rain, the Bluejays are back in action on Monday, April 20, when they tee off at the Butts Classic hosted by Millikin at the Country Club of Decatur in Decatur, Ill.
