ELMHURST, Ill. – Elmhurst Football and head coach Mike Heffernan announced two additions to the Bluejay coaching staff leading into the 2026 season.
Michael Passarella has been announced as the new Defensive Coordinator for the Bluejays, while Jon Bolme joins the Jays as the Special Teams Coordinator and Linebackers Coach.
Passarella comes to Elmhurst following seven seasons as head coach at DePaul College Prep, where he secured the team's first Chicago Catholic League win in over five years while developing the program from under 50 student-athletes to over 160 by the end of his tenure.
Prior to his time at DePaul, Passarella served as a Scouting Analyst for the Cleveland Browns for four seasons, preparing materials used for the team during the NFL Draft.
Bolme joins the Bluejays following five seasons as the Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach at the College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota. Leading the Saints' special teams, Bolme's squad had the top kick return unit in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, recording five takeaways throughout the 2025 season.
