FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The Elmhurst University women's golf team wrapped up the opening round of the Marian University Invitational in fifth place, carding a team score of 347 on Sunday at Rolling Meadows Golf Course.

The Bluejays sit behind Lake Forest (306), Marian (325), St. Norbert (331), and MSOE (345) after 18 holes of play.

Elise Nelson led the Bluejays with a round of 85, tying for 14th overall on the individual leaderboard. Emily Roberts followed closely behind with an 86, tying for 18th. Both Laine Leonard and Magen Laas finished with rounds of 88, good for a tie for 22nd, while Ava Sweeten rounded out Elmhurst's scoring lineup with an 89 to sit tied for 27th.

Three individuals also competed for Elmhurst. Hailey Vogt turned in an 87 to place in a tie for 20th, while Jessica Perns shot a 92 and Ava Ferri recorded a 94.

The Bluejays will return to the course on Monday for the second and final round of the invitational.
