WARRENVILLE, Ill. -Â The Elmhurst University women's cross country team turned in an impressive performance at the NCCXC Invitational, finishing as the team runner-up with 44 points. The Bluejays placed all five scoring runners inside the top 15 and had 10 athletes achieve personal-best times in the 6,000-meter race.
Senior Molly Roberts paced Elmhurst with a runner-up finish, crossing the line in 23:10.9 for a new personal best. Junior Jessica Solar followed in fifth place with a personal-best 23:58.8, while junior Paige Rewerts (11th, 24:11.0) and freshman Joanna Rivera (12th, 24:12.3) both set personal bests as well. Senior Alyssa Roelli closed out the scoring lineup in 14th place with a personal-best 24:26.1.
Sophomore Keagan Burke added a personal-best 24:34.8 in 15th place, while junior Julietta Contreras (23rd, 25:11.6), freshman Morgan Ashcroft (26th, 25:22.9), and junior Annie Hathaway (29th, 25:32.9) each recorded personal bests. Junior Jade Benavides finished 33rd in 25:52.2, with senior Lauren Snelgrove running a personal-best 27:11.6 for 48th. Freshman Annalise Wickersheim capped Elmhurst's lineup in 62nd with a personal-best 29:27.4.
Wheaton captured the team title with 33 points, led by four runners in the top seven. Elmhurst was close behind in second with 44, while Wisconsin-Whitewater finished third with 55. North Central (96), Joliet Junior College (152), and Benedictine (172) rounded out the team standings.
