ELMHURST, ILL - The Elmhurst University women's cross country team turned in a strong performance at the Dan Huston Invitational, hosted by Wartburg College on October 4 at the Max Championship Cross Country Course in Waverly, Iowa. The Bluejays placed 10th overall in the 15-team field, finishing with 223 points and a combined time of 2:03:35 in the 6,000-meter race.

Senior Molly Roberts once again paced Elmhurst, leading the way with an 18th-place finish in 23:27.1. Junior Paige Rewerts followed with a solid run of 24:33.6 to place 39th, while freshman Joanna Rivera crossed in 24:50.7 for 47th. Junior Jessica Solar clocked 25:10.3 for 56th, and senior Alyssa Roelli rounded out the scoring five with a 68th-place finish in 25:40.7.

Sophomore Keagan Burke (25:49.6) and junior Jade Benavides (25:34.0) provided additional support as the Bluejays' sixth and seventh runners, while Julietta Contreras (25:51.1), Morgan Ashcroft (27:50.4), Lauren Snelgrove(31:30.4), and Annalise Wickersheim (32:10.3) added depth to Elmhurst's lineup.

Central College claimed the team title with 61 points, followed by Grinnell (89) and Gustavus Adolphus (103). The Bluejays finished just ahead of Simpson (Iowa) and Drake in the team standings.

Elmhurst will return to competition on October 18 (Saturday) at 11:00 a.m., racing at the Augustana Interregional Invitational at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois.
