WEST CHICAGO, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's golf team wrapped up play at the Benedictine University Fall Invite, finishing eighth in the 22-team field with a team score of 352 at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club in West Chicago.
Elise Nelson paced the Bluejays with the team's low round of the day, carding an 84 to tie for 20th place individually. She was followed closely by Laine Leonard, who posted an 86 to finish in a tie for 28th. Emily Roberts added a round of 89, placing in a tie for 43rd overall, while Ava Sweeten shot a 93 to finish tied for 67th. Rounding out Elmhurst's scoring lineup, Magen Laas carded a 99 to place in a tie for 87th.
Competing individually, Hailey Vogt turned in a 90 to tie for 48th, Ava Ferri shot a 102 to tie for 91st, and Jessica Perns recorded a 104 to tie for 97th.
Aurora University's "A" team captured the tournament title with a score of 309, while Marian's Yinan Lu earned medalist honors with a 74. Elmhurst's 352 placed the Bluejays just one stroke behind Aurora's "C" team and Millikin's "A" squad, who tied for ninth.
