STUREVANT, Wis. - The Elmhurst University women's golf team wrapped up play at the Ives Grove Firebird Classic, hosted by Carthage College at Ives Grove Golf Links in Sturtevant, Wis.

The Bluejays placed 11th out of 18 teams, finishing with a two-round total of 679 (+103).

Elise Nelson led Elmhurst with a 160 (+16) after opening with a 77 (+5) on Friday and closing with an 83 (+11) on Saturday, tying for 15th place in the 90-golfer field. Emily Roberts followed with a 162 (+18), improving from an opening-round 84 (+12) to a 78 (+6) on day two to place in a tie for 19th overall.

Laine Leonard turned in a two-day score of 174 (+30), carding rounds of 91 (+19) and 83 (+11). Ava Ferri posted a 183 (+39) with rounds of 93 (+21) and 90 (+18), while Ava Sweeten closed at 190 (+46) after rounds of 97 (+25) and 93 (+21). Playing as an individual, Hailey Vogt recorded a 204 (+60), improving from an opening-round 107 (+35) to a 97 (+25) in round two.

Aurora University claimed the team title with a score of 608 (+32), while Aurora's Thanpimol Tharpanawongwech and Carthage's Lexi Manteufel shared medalist honors at 149 (+5).

The Bluejays return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at the Judson Fall Invitational.
